Our Morning at KARE 11

Last October we attended Holy Family Catholic High School's Oktoberfest. I bid on a morning with Bobby Jensen and Belinda Jensen at KARE 11 during a live auction and won! We were able to bring six guests. I started to email Bobby and eventually spoke to him and Belinda personally to schedule our big day!

On Saturday, March 11th we had our morning at KARE 11! Bobby Jensen gave us a tour of the studio, we got to go into the control room with the producers and "sit-in" on the entire morning show production. We met Bobby and Belinda and Eric Perkins and we had a blast! We were all smiles the whole time!

It was soo cool to see the set of the show you are so familiar with and the personalities you watch on a daily basis "live and in person". Bobby was a wonderful host and Belinda was awesome to see "in-action". Perk is the same in real life as on TV.

The morning started with a hot breakfast brought in for our group. With Michelle and I were Dan Zufall, Angie Weicherding, Pat Jirele and Chad Ayers. We were the only guests in the studio.

We looked on as guests came and went, we followed Belinda to "The Backyard" for the weather forecast. After that Bobby and Belinda did a "Grow With Kare" segment. One of the guests that day was Nathan's Famous Hot Dogs. After their spot was over, some of us ate cold hot dogs!

It was awesome. Words can't describe it. We are looking forward to next year's auction at Holy Family and hope to have the opportunnity to bid on this experience again! Special thanks and "Hi" to Al Bill and Katie Burke at Holy Family!!

We all had a chance to sit at the Anchor Desk. The studio will be changing next month when KARE 11 goes HDTV.

We went out to "The Backyard" during "Grow with Kare". Belinda chatted first to come up with an informal introduction to the segment. During the whole show, Bobby was only on the air about 5 minutes, but stayed to show us the ropes! Thanks Bobby!

You can see the green board that Belinda points to as she looks at the computer screen to her left and there is another one hidden to her right. She reads the forecast from various monitors as she walks from that spot back to her seat. She is always multi-tasking!

By day, Dan is a Loan Officer and Paul a REALTOR, but you can now catch them at 5:00, 6:00 and 10:00 as the future news anchors of KARE11 News!
